February Workshop Cards

I have scheduled a workshop for tomorrow for some new stampers. I am so very excited to welcome new people to join the love of papercrafting. I have not had a workshop in a long time, since I mostly focus on my clubs. So I was challenged to take a step back to the beginning to come up with a lovely design that’s easy to complete but is fulfilling to my stampers.

I took note from my Bestie, who made some cards for a class she designed and showed me her ideas. I grabbed the one that called to me and asked if I could use it for a basis for my workshop stampers. Her card was so simple – stamping with a couple of colors, one die cut image and one embellishment. I just love it. I took it home and found some spring colors to use and a different stamp set. Her card is the one on top while my interpretation is the bottom one. I used some retired Lemon Lime twist ribbon and the butterfly punch, also retired.

So I figured I better come up with an idea where I can show current product for my new stampers. I wanted to show you all three cards to illustrate that you can take an idea and make it your own. Use what you have and don’t be afraid to get out some stuff that you haven’t used for a while!

Since I am having a workshop with new stampers, I thought I would demonstrate a card for them. I usually don’t do this, and let them get their hands on the stamps and run with it, but I wanted to try out the “standard” way to have a workshop. Here is the card I will demonstrate – two colors and one stamp set.

I have the octopus cut out already, so I will just need to stamp the seaweed and coral (did you see it at the bottom in the seaweed?) and the sentiment, then pop him up at the end.

I have forgotten how much I love the clean and simple cards like these. I am inspired to stamp more like this! I will show you those with my next post.
