I have a thing for peacocks. And mermaids. And octopuses. So of course, the first thing on my list from the new 2019-2020 catalog last summer was the Noble Peacock suite. This suite includes a gorgeous stamp set and dies, along with coordinating foil DSP and rhinestones. Everything is jewel-toned and sparkly – right up my alley! I am so sad that this set is retiring, but I will not part with it. Here is a set of cards I made just using the stamp set. I made a set of white and vanilla but it’s difficult to tell in the photos.
I stamped the peacock in Blueberry bushel using the stamparatus (SAR) – boy is this tool handy! Then I had the second plate on the SAR with the detailed image of the tail and stamped that in Call Me Clover. Using this SAR, I stamped 8 card fronts in about 3 minutes.
Once this gorgeous guy was stamped, I used a Blender Pen to color in his body and top part of the tail. I did not dip my blender pen into any ink – I simply colored the image and while doing so, the ink was picked up from the stamped image. I am so happy with how lightly the coloring turned out. I don’t think I’ve ever used a Blender Pen without dipping it into the ink first – so this was a fabulous discovery for me.
The Hello sentiment came from the Good Morning Magnolia set. I had it sitting on my desk and thought this was the perfect size and also a sentiment I would more often use – rather than the proud sentiments that come with the Royal Peacock set.
I used the Call Me Clover marker to fill in the eyes on the tail where I didn’t line up the detailed image quite completely. The lovely thing about this set – it doesn’t matter if you’re not perfectly lined up – it still looks great. I also colored the plume on his head with the clover marker.
The sentiment is layered with a piece of Blueberry Bushel foil from the Noble Peacock Foil DSP. This pack has three colors – Pretty Peacock, Blueberry Bushel and Old Olive. This stunning foil paper is being retired so if you would like to get some, you better order it ASAP – click here to order it from my online store.
