May NC Demos Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to the May NC Demos blog hop. The NC Demos is a huge group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who all live in North Carolina. We have events, hops, shares, swaps and a Facebook group where we all share and inspire each other. Without this group of women, I don’t know that I would have celebrated my 15th year as a demo this year.

This month’s project should showcase our favorite retiring product. I LOVE the beach and pretty much anything beachy or tropical. Naturally, I had to have the Tropical Chic bundle and I am very sad to see this go. (but you know I will NEVER get rid of it!) I chose tropical colors to showcase these images and the color names are just icing on the cake 🙂
Bermuda Bay, Flirty Flamingo and Pear Pizzazz.

I love those bright colors, don’t you? I also used the 6×6 DSP that was released when this set was debuted. The colors in the DSP are pink and green, a combination I like, but I wanted more tropical flair for these cards. Now having said that, I didn’t want to let this lovely DSP sit all alone, so I made a set of note cards and matching envelopes. I am recently discovering how wonderful Stampin’ Up!’s packs of note cards really are – they are pre-cut, pre-scored and have an envelope – half the work done! So here is my set of cards, and I’ve used one already before I took the photos. I love this set!

I used the tiny sentiment from the Tropical Oasis set and the Stitched So Sweetly Dies – they fit together perfectly!
Again, I used the tiny sentiment from the Tropical Oasis set and the Stitched So Sweetly Dies

Which set is your favorite? Do you like the tropical colors and the bright set? Or do you prefer the subtle pastel colors of the original DSP set?

  3. First, let me say – Wow! ALL your cards are wonderful. You definitely have been busy making beautiful sets of cards. They all made me think that I should just get in the car and drive to the beach! Your color combinations are great, and I agree with you about the note cards. They can be a real lifesaver. Congrats on your 15th anniversary with SU!
